GETTING STARTED

Your FLOAT guide

FLOAT tells you exactly where every rand should go each month. Here is how to get the most out of it.

1

Sign up and answer a few questions

Continue

Takes about 60 seconds. FLOAT asks for the basics: your income, what you spend, and what you have saved. That is enough to calculate your Freedom Day -- the date work becomes optional.

Be honest with the numbers. FLOAT is not here to judge. The more accurate your input, the more useful the plan.

2

Chat with FLOAT

What should I do?FPut R3,833 into your TFSAthen R2,000 into your RA...

After signing up you land in the chat. FLOAT will ask you a few follow-up questions about your debts, medical aid, housing situation, and goals. Answer what you can. Each answer makes your plan more accurate.

You can ask FLOAT anything about money. It knows your numbers and gives you specific advice, not generic tips. Try: "What should I do with my money?" or "How am I doing?"

3

Upload a bank statement

100 transactions

This is the power move. Go to Money in the bottom menu and upload a PDF or screenshot of your bank statement. FLOAT reads every transaction, categorises your spending, and shows you exactly where your money goes.

The more months you upload, the smarter FLOAT gets. Three months is ideal. Even one month makes a big difference.

4

Explore your dashboard

Your Home screen shows the numbers that matter: net worth, Freedom Day, FLOAT Score, and your next steps. Tap around. Check out the Learn tab for free financial courses. Try the simulator under Plan to see what happens if you save more.

What to look for as a tester

You are one of the first people to use FLOAT. Your feedback shapes the product. Here is what would help most:

?Did anything confuse you during signup?
?Did the numbers feel accurate or way off?
?Was there a moment where FLOAT surprised you (good or bad)?
?Did anything break or look wrong on your phone?
?What feature would make you come back every month?
?Would you recommend this to a friend? Why or why not?

Screenshot anything weird and send it to Byron. No feedback is too small.
